Greetings from Seoul!
On behalf of the president of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 TAFISA World Congress, I am pleased to welcome you to the 25th TAFISA World Congress in Seoul, Korea, to take place from 15th to 19th November, 2017.
Sport for All cannot be defined as a simple activity. The IOC Charter stipulates “the practice of Sport is a human right”. Sport for All is a life-giving welfare that must be actively promoted and supported in any country in the world. Today, sport is emerging as a new industry that contributes to individual health and leisure, as well as to wellness and happiness. In other words, Sport for All is not limited to individuals but also works as the core of national competitiveness. Improving the health and well-being of individuals and reducing medical costs through physical activities leads directly to the productivity improvement, creating the infinite value.
Seoul, where the 25th TAFISA World Congress is to be hosted, is a cultural city boasting about 2000 years of history and tradition. It has a wide range of attractions, food, and entertainment. You can find a well-blended mix of K-Pop and traditional culture in Seoul. In the middle of November, when the Congress is held, various festivals and performances will be held together to create a more spectacular sight and atmosphere. In addition, beautiful scenery of nature and mountains with their autumn color will be waiting for your visit to Korea.
The goal of Sport for All Movement is to place sport at the service of harmonious development of humankind, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity. And I believe that one of the purposes of TAFISA is to contribute to world peace by enhancing the qualities of body, will and mind with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play through Sport for All.
The 25th TAFISA World Congress will set a new platform of the World Sport for All Movement, and at the same time pave the way for an ‘Active World 2030’. We hope to see many athletic leaders and stakeholders from all over the world in this Congress and participate actively in laying the first stone for an Active World 2030.
President of The 25th TAFISA World Congress Organizing Committee
